Cort Michael Mead
Cort Michael Mead 1963-2003

Cort Mead, born December 28, 1963, died unexpectedly this past week (first week of november 2003) of natural causes. Cort grew up in Medina and was a proud member of the first graduating class of Eastside Catholic High School in 1983. While still in school, he began his lifetime dedication to helping those in need. He spent his teen summers working for his favorite charity, the Salvation Army, at Camp Arnold, a camp focused on underprivileged children. For over 20 years, he was a hard working fixture at the Salvation Army's annual Celebrity Bell Ringing Day in downtown Seattle, where he usually wore a Santa hat and a big smile. His favorite holiday was Halloween and he once again gave his time to others working endless hours at a haunted house for charity. Cort's strongest asset was that he truly cared about people. He also adored animals, adopting a handful of strays, his favorite being his cat,"Psyche". Cort had an amazing talent for taking things apart and putting them back together. At his job in the computer network security industry he was widely known as "the guy who is able to fix anything". He loved cheering for his beloved Huskies and spending time with his friends and family, especially his parents, Herb and Sharon Mead of Medina; his brother Clint and family (wife Lisa) and two nieces (Madisen and Jessica) and two nephews (McCallum and Owen) whom he adored. Cort will be deeply missed by his large extended family and his many friends. A Memorial Service for Cort Mead will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Medina this Sunday, November 16, at 1:00 p.m., followed immediately by a Celebration of His Life at his parents' home. In lieu of flowers you may send a donation in Cort's name to the Salvation Army, specifying the Celebrity Bell Ringing Day event.

Cort, I will always remember you buddy! -Rob
